Clifford quilt

I made the top of this quilt 6 months ago. The blocks are actually for a book you are supposed to make but my stepmother gave me the idea (and the fabric) to make it into a quilt. I thought how fun it would be to read while laying on it or sitting under.

It took me only a short afternoon to make the top and put it together but I was waiting to quilt it because my mom just got a long arm quilter and I wanted to use this quilt to test it.

Here it is all loaded up. This is a crazy huge machine and takes up a good part of the garage. I probably should have taken a picture a little further away to get a better idea what it looks like but that'll just have to be for next time.
There are handles, kind of like on a bike, that you use to guide the stitch, it is really cool when you get going.
This stitch, where you kind of do whatever in sort of a swirl pattern, I have found out, is called stippling. It is super easy but looks complicated.

I was able to quilt the whole thing (though I didn't quilt over the actual pictures, I thought it would look better to go around them) in about four hours but the time seemed to fly it was so much fun.
I even was able to quilt our name in one of the squares. The lettering isn't that good but it was my first time.

All I have left is the binding (which will probably be red to match the back). It has been a good 'practice quilt' and I am so excited to play around with it again!
