Wedding Fever Giveaway

I have weddings on the brain. Over the past month or so I've gone to more weddings than I probably have in the past 5 years combined! To top that, this past weekend I photographed a friends wedding AND I am have been working on my cousin's wedding and bridal shower that's happening in November/December. I sure love a good wedding!

Anyhoo. I thought I'd do a 'wedding themed' giveaway just for fun. Because pearls always remind me of weddings, I thought I'd give away a pearl earring and necklace set from my shop. I have several sets (though listed separately) and here are some pics of the four you can choose from (each have matching earrings/necklace)

To enter all you have to do is leave a comment sharing with me the most interesting/creative wedding idea you can, I can sure use some good ones! That's it. Winner will be picked Sunday night at midnight.

Oh, and here are some of the wedding pics I took. It was my first one and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity! Aren't they a gorgeous couple?

  1. Something I saw once was using vintage postcards for save the date notes. This would be especially nice for a wedding with a lot of out of town guests. And then you could have them send local postcards back as RSVP, that would make a very nice guest book!

  2. What fun pictures! I love the Converse shoes and the little boy just takes the cake. Oh, and the bride and groom look fantastic too. :)

Weddings are an area where I definitely lack creativity, but we're planning a wedding in our family too, and my MIL just had an idea that I really like. She loves using candles as decor, so for the centerpieces at the wedding luncheon, we're putting vinyl silhouettes of the couple on different sized candles. We haven't tried it yet, but I think (hope!) it will look awesome.

Thanks for the giveaway! Have a great weekend

  3. Beautiful jewelry!!!

My favorite gift to give for weddings is a popcorn bowl with popcorn, candy, and a movie. You can never go wrong with a ready to go "date night".

  4. I lack creativity on the whole so here are some things I've seen. For my brother-in-law's wedding their little token that you got to take for a remembrance or whatever was a Chinese porcelain spoon (his wife is Asian). They had holes in the end where they put a ribbon and since the wedding colors were black, white and pink, the white spoon looked great on their table settings.
Also, at my brother's wedding everyone walked away with a tiny canvas bag that had their name and wedding date on the bag plus inside was the rice, a little tiny container of bubbles and a thank you from the bride and groom.
Now at Chris and Megan Neilsen's wedding they had a little candy bar. I thought that was so awesome and the kids had so much fun with it. (The big kids did, too.)

  5. Hooray for pearls! I love them. One of my favorite wedding ideas is to have a kids refreshment table set up low where little kids can reach. Then set up jars filled with cheese puffs, pretzels, gummy bears, goldfish, marshmallows, bubble gum, etc. My friend had one set up at her wedding, and it was awesome! It kept the little ones occupied so well. :)

  6. I am in the midst of planning my baby sisters wedding (and shopping for her jewelry!) She's getting married at a national park in washington. Here's some of our ideas so far for her woodsy evening wedding on a budget. We are thrift shopping for as many funky old jars and canning jars as possible, then hitting the beach for pebbles and sand to fill them with and set a candle in (I'm making candles but store votives would be perfect too). Those will decorate the tables, line the walk way up to the "alter" and hang in the trees. I'm printing photos of their time dating and also antique pictures of romantic scenes like waterfalls and couples kissing. Those will be scattered around hanging from ribbons. I'm making a wedding arch for them to stand under out of some tree branches cut in the woods and wrapped in ribbon and fake flower garlands. Flower petals scattered down the path. The reception is going to be a potluck style family picnic.

  7. Great Pics! I saw on TV the other day where a couple had a candy "bar" at the reception. All kinds of glass containers were filled with different candies. The guest each had a bag to fill and take home. I thought it was a really cute idea.

  8. I'm a huge fan of tailoring one's wedding, breaking the mould, be it creative, functional, or fashionable. It wasn't very creative, but it was definitely us - my now husband and I have massive families, and there was no way to trim the guest list, so catering was OUT of the question. Oddly, such huge families get together an awful lot, and usually potluck, well over the years each Aunt has become known for her dish, and has felt the wrath of all the cousins when she would try something new. So since our wedding was just another family gathering, we asked each Aunt to bring their dish for us as their wedding gift. Different than most, but no catering company could ever have made Auntie Patricia's taco salad or Auntie Jenny's homemade buns!

  9. I am not too big on creative wedding ideas. How sad is that? I think weddings were overdone when I was at BYU and I had my fill and then some when I was there (6 long years...)! However, I have seen the goldfish centerpieces and really liked those. I don't know if you've seen them but they have live goldfish in fishbowls swimming around. It's a great conversation starter for people and really fun. However, I love fish and sea creatures so maybe I'm one of the only ones who think they're really cool as centerpieces.

  10. Recently at a wedding they had an area set up for portraits to be taken. Everyone had a chance to go over there, and get pics of themselves with friends, family and the wedding party...whatever they wanted. They had a couple different settings one was and open frame you could stand behind. Guest were able to get creative taking pics and it created some great shots. The new married couple are still getting pics from family and friends.

  11. It's not my idea, but I did see on a wedding show where they had a candy "bar". There were multiple glass vases that were filled with all different kinds of candies. Each guest got to fill a little a bag and take it home with them. I thought it was a really cute idea! (Also, all the glass vases were different shapes/sizes, which made it more interesting and fun.)

  12. I just attended my nephew's wedding and at the wedding dinner they had chargers under clear glass plates. Under the plate on the charger they had a die-cut letter of their last name "L". It looked cool under the clear glass plate. Also, for place settings they had caramel apples in bags tied with ribbon the color of the wedding and a hand written name tag. It was unique and classy looking!
