Valentine's Pillows

I may have mentioned this before but I don't change my decor much for holidays. I have friends who change their whole living room depending on the season but that is not me. This year though I have felt like January and February is so doldrums sometimes that maybe a little bit of love wouldn't be bad for Valentine's Day. If I were to decorate it would need to be something simple though and I thought about pillows.

I'm not a big pillow person, our couch has two, but pillows are perfect for Valentines to me because they are cuddly and comfortable, great for showing off a little love. When it's not Valentine's day you can toss them on your bed or a guest bed and they are out of the way for the rest of the year.

Also, pillows are great because there are so many ways to make them yourself. These X and O pillows come with a tutorial for how to make them.

Or have you seen the cute pillows with sayings on them, if you were brave enough to print on fabric you could make your own. A few years ago we posted some great pillow tutorials, they are here. My favorite for Valentine's Day is the Ruffle Pillow

All this thinking about pillows and I remembered a project I started a long time ago. I thought it was cute because my husband typically has a beard and I always have a ponytail so I am in the process of making these, but only mine will have a ponytail.

I have never been able to find a tutorial for these or even a good source so I've been figuring it out on my own. Now that I have been inspired by all these pillows my goal is to have ours done by Valentine's Day.

Are you guys throw pillow people, or do you stick to the basics? Would you ever make any of these?
