So I wasn't going to do a giveaway this week but I caved, because I know too many wonderful mommy's out there! And with Mother's Day just over a week away I thought I'd better get something going!
The winner will receive two, that's right TWO of these fabulous necklaces as featured recently on Etsy's Mother's Day Gift Feature! One is for you and the other is to give to someone you feel is an amazing mother.
Here's what you have to do to win:
1.) Comment: What is the greatest lesson your mother (or mother figure) taught you?
2.) Additional entries for becoming a follower or for posting about the giveaway on your blog, facebook, twitter, adding my button (please leave a link to it).... Make sure to leave a separate comment for each entry!
Contest will go through Monday May 3rd at Midnight, good luck!
Happy Mothers Day!!
I think the greatest thing my mom taught me was to think creatively. Whether its sewing custom bedding, making do with materials at hand, or finding unusual solutions to problems, its always good to be able to look at things from many angles. Thanks for the giveaway, I would love to give one of these to my mom!

My mom's best advice to me is to follow your heart. It might get you sidetracked along the way, but it's better than always thinking "what if I had ...". The best mistakes are ones we can learn from, and you fail at everything you never try.

The greatest thing my mother taught me was to put my relationship with my husband before my children. Meaning she always took/takes time with him. They had date nights when we were growing up, she would always take a few minutes to ask him about his day when he first walked in the door and telling us to go play for a few minutes. As a soon to be mom I know this was important to see growing up and I know it will benefit my children and my relationship with my husband!

When I was a child and I would say I hate so & so my mother would say to me, Christine do not ever say that you hate anyone until you know the meaning of "hate". Today at 48, I have never looked up the meaning, and I never say I hate anyone.
ReplyDeleteThe greatest lesson my mom taught me is to persevere, have faith, and never give up. She came to CA from Mexico when she was a twelve, following her father's death. I can't imagine how hard it must've been to move to a strange country where you didn't understand anything--the language, customs, etc--on top of being treated differently because of that. Despite the tragic start of her coming here, she kept a sunny heart and made us kids know how loved we were by her and our family at large.
ReplyDeleteIt woud be awesome to give my mom this, thanks for the chance :)

My mother has taught me so many great things it is hard to choose one. Prob. the best thing she ever taught me was to know what I had as far as the loving people in my life, and to appreciate and enjoy them as long as I can. Things come and go, but the people build a strong and loving foundation. They are what really matter.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the greatest lesson your mother (or mother figure) taught you?
ReplyDeleteShe taught me to NEVER let a man (well anyone) treat you badly.
She also shared a lesson about how loving animals are. She has a huge heart for them. I think that's were I learned to love as well.
I currently have a good man and 4 adopted pets.

The greatest thing my mother ever taught me is how to be at peace with myself, others, and especially with things I cannot control. We used to listen to the Beatles as we cleaned the house on Saturday mornings, and she always used to say that the song "Let It Be" had one of the best messages she'd ever heard. Then, when she and my dad got divorced, she told me to let it be, that this situation wasn't about me and I couldn't change it, so I should let it be. When I got my heart broken for the first time, she told me to let it be, and that even though I couldn't fathom it now, eventually I'd be okay. Last summer, the day after my birthday, I got the words "let it be" tattooed on my left side, right under my heart, in her handwriting. From now until forever, her message with be with me.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway, by the way. :D
